We got a fairly quiet room with a bedroom and a balcony. the location was marvelous; Grass Valley Museum was approximately 10-15 minutes' walk from the hotel. - the property itself was in a great area.

It is undoubtedly a beautiful historical and quirky option when in Grass Valley. It is nestled in the heart of the town, right by an award winning co - op gallery. The staff is supper friendly, that's an advantage.

Everything was brand-new, excellent location close enough to the town center and the nature and including a drop-in to north Lake Tahoe, accommodating staff. We have booked king room with bedroom and cupboards, as example for 7 nights. Hairdryers and free toiletries was a plus.

I had a delightful stay at a historical hotel with a lovely room in a separate building overlooking Main St. The location was perfect, allowing me to easily walk to all the shops in the charming pioneer town. The room was cozy and had a quaint, claw foot bathtub. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service throughout my stay. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the historical Holbrooke.

There were some disturbances during my stay that woke me up a few times.

The breakfast room was an afterthought and while the continental breakfast selections were good, the setting was cold and unwelcoming. The hotel could do a better job of making the breakfast a feature, not an unwelcome requirement.

All the staff was fairly friendly, settled my issues.

I had a fantastic stay at a historic hotel right in the center of town. It was beautifully decorated, with all the important comforts. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the location was perfect for walking to all the shops.

The ambiance was great with an antique look and feel. Its central location gave immediate access to all of the wonderful downtown shops and diner choices. We ended up eating at the Holbrooke Restaurant which was great. They let us in early for diner while they were between lunch and dinner for some tea. We enjoyed conversation and the cool room while it was hot outside.

While it’s nice to have the antique look and feel to a place, some of the furniture was in poor shape. I think I was looking for more comfort than look in certain cases like the chairs in the room. I was trying to relax and the only option at some points was the bed. The bed was just fine for my wife and I though so not too much of an issue. :)
